The AIDS pandemic in South Africa is leaving thousands of orphaned children in its wake. Their hopes and dreams need not end with the death of their parents.

Open Arms Home for Children is a non-profit organization dedicated to serving the needs of children orphaned by AIDS.

A Long Walk for Children is a 750-mile/1,200 km fundraising effort by founder Bob Solis to help raise money to build additional cottages at Open Arms Home for Children. Currently the home can accommodate 30 children.

With the growing number of orphaned children in this region of South Africa, our goal is to build 8 new cottages – room for 50 more children. We are at capacity and urgently need to build more cottages.
